PUREX has been developed to facilitate the filtration of exhaust air in drying systems. This system ensures that potentially harmful polymer vapours are filtered from the air, where they might be detrimental to personal health and potentially damaging to the molecular sieves inside the dryer circuit.

Filtration is provided through a cyclone effect during the second stage of condensation to ensure these harmful vapours are collected.
